Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 2025

1. iRace.online's Role

iRace.online is a registration platform and acts solely as a facilitator between participants and independent event organisers. iRace.online is not a party to the contract between a participant and an event organiser, and does not set, control, or guarantee any refund or cancellation terms.

All refund and cancellation decisions rest entirely with the individual event organiser. By completing a registration you enter into an agreement with the event organiser, subject to their terms and conditions, which are made available on the event registration page.

2. Event Organiser Terms & Conditions

Each event listed on iRace.online is governed by the terms and conditions of the event organiser. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Whether refunds are available and under what conditions
  • The deadlines by which a cancellation request must be submitted
  • The refund amount or percentage that applies
  • The process for requesting a cancellation or refund
  • Policies on event postponement, cancellation, or significant changes

It is your responsibility to read and understand the event organiser's terms and conditions before completing your registration. These are displayed on the event page prior to checkout.

3. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

To cancel your registration or request a refund, you must contact the event organiser directly. Their contact details are available on the event page. iRace.online does not process refunds or cancellations on behalf of event organisers.

iRace.online has no authority to compel an event organiser to issue a refund beyond what is stated in their own terms and conditions.

4. Payment Processing Fees

Payment gateway processing fees charged by our third-party payment provider are non-refundable under all circumstances. These fees are retained by the payment provider and are not recovered by iRace.online or the event organiser, regardless of whether a refund is approved.

5. Entry Transfers (Substitutions)

Where an event organiser has enabled entry transfers, you may transfer your confirmed entry to another eligible runner as an alternative to cancellation. Entry transfers are subject to the following:

  • Entry transfers must be initiated within the substitution window set by the organiser.
  • The incoming runner must complete their own registration details and accept the event indemnity.
  • Once a transfer is completed it is final and cannot be reversed.
  • Any financial arrangement between the original and incoming runner is a private matter — iRace.online does not facilitate payment between the two parties.

Transfers are initiated via My Registrations. If the option is not visible, the organiser has not enabled substitutions for that event.

6. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"). Where the CPA grants you a statutory right to cancel or seek a refund, that right applies in addition to whatever the event organiser's terms provide.

7. Disputes

If you have a dispute regarding a refund or cancellation, you should first contact the event organiser directly in writing and allow a reasonable time for them to respond. iRace.online may assist in facilitating communication between parties but is not liable for any refund owed by an event organiser and cannot override the organiser's decision.

For platform-related concerns you may contact us at support@irace.online.

8. Changes to This Policy

iRace.online may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This policy must be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
